I did complete a belated birthday gift yesterday. I had promised Diane, (Molly Mo's) a liner for her market cart. It's a little different from others I have made. This one is made of burlap! The funny thing is that I discovered while making it that I am still sensitive to the fibers in burlap. Haven't spent much time around burlap since it held grain for my horses in the 60's and 70's. Elf Patty had to finish sewing the burlap parts and I sewed the lining and trims. I love the look of the burlap in contrast to the frilly trim, but don't think I will be working with it again too soon! (Cough-cough-wheeze) Here are a few pictures. Kinda cute - huh?!?
I starting on some Halloween designs. I'll keep you posted on a certain process I'm trying that will be applied on some pumpkins! I've also been experimenting with folding book pages.
Next post: A poll regarding guestroom paint colors - getting that perfect shade of robin-egg blue! Have a peaceful weekend - M.

I love the burlap liner and plan on making one for my cart. Made the mistake of washing yardage of burlap to make it tighter...ended up with quite the mess in the washer and dryer. Yours looks beautiful!
Martha,
I'm so glad you are back.
Unlike you, I have my priorities all mixed up, and spend way too much time in blog land.
The burlap and lace is cute, and i can't wait to see your other projects.
Don't even remind me i should be working on Fall items. (that's hard with the store to always be thinking a season ahead!)
I am still making bird nests and enjoying every minute of it!!
What is the technique for putting the pic on the piece of fabric that's on the burlap?
Or is it a secret method?
Would love to be able to do that.
blessings, and so glad to see you.

I love the liner you made. I have a cart and these pictures made me think I should make a liner too.
I will try another fabric. I have a problem working with the burlap too... itchy.. LOL

The liner is great!! Is this the guest bedroom that I saw? You're changing the wall color?? Talk to you soon. Laurie
Love Diane's new basket liner!
Love the cart liner! It's darling :) Just wanted to let you know that burlap contains formaldehyde which was likely what made you sick. It is such a great material but somewhat dangerous. I noticed that someone commented about washing and drying it. Burlap can actually catch fire in the dryer! I have seen formaldehyde free burlap but it is difficult to find and quite costly.
