New Friends, Added Location - More Holiday Treasures!

This year the Holiday Treasures Show is going to be a little different.  Different in that we are including 2 more friends at 2 locations!

As many of you already know, Diane Kaser (Molly Mo's) and I have hosted a Holiday Treasures Show for a number of years in her charming barn in Sublimity, Oregon.  It has been so much fun and very successful.  We have enjoyed seeing all our friends and loyal customers each year while enjoying a little wine, some great nibbles, lots of laughter and conversations - way past closing time.  We have loved kicking off the holiday season with so many of you and hope that we have provided some yuletide inspiration.

Well, when things are successful, why change anything?  Diane and I have asked ourselves that many times.  We have nurtured and grown this little holiday event over the years and has been "our baby".  A "baby" that has outgrown its "crib", aka, Diane's adorable barn on their charming farm property.  The show has been so successful that space and parking has become an "issue" and almost prevented it from happening at all last year.  We did overcome those issues and still enjoyed it all, but it was stressful.

So, we decided to ask our good friends Sarah (Roost Reimagined) and Pam (Mama Roost) to join us this year.  This is a natural transition as we have all coordinated for our Spring 4 Friends Sale, a one-day progressive sale held mid-March.

Planning a sale in 2 locations has had its challenges.  Finding a location that evokes vintage charm in a location relatively close to our original location was hard.  We hope the Macleay Grange will fulfill that requirement.  A charming, vintage structure with adequate free parking, heat and restrooms not too far from Molly Mo's.  We think it checks all the boxes.

Getting you all one location to another is another challenge. We enjoy hosting a twinkly, nighttime preview event.  It really sets a magical mood.  How do we direct customers to different locations - at night - in the dark?  We hope that by getting the "word" out early will allow everyone to inquire and find the Macleay Grange location.  Molly Mo's will remain in the same great spot - so we are 50% there!  We will be placing directional signs, posting directions on our blogs and Facebook pages.  In addition we will provide directions and maps at each location for you to refer to along the way.

On Friday evening - preview night - there will be a $5.00 admission that applies to both locations.  One fee for two locations of beverages and nibbles, not to mention twice the fabulous treasures!

If you cannot make it to the Friday evening preview, we will be open again on Saturday, November 22nd at 9 am 'til 3 pm.  Molly Mo's will be open until 4 pm - bonus!  There is no admission fee on Saturday - just lots of merchandise and holiday cheer!

So - mark your calendar and plan to join us for another great event!  M.

Summer is Here!

Yep, summer is here.  Hot, sunny days... perfect for working on new projects.  I love being able

to work outside.  I put the warm sun to good use ... aged fabric and paint dries so fast.  It is also a great way to reconnect with the neighborhood.  Dogs and people alike stop by to see what I'm working on.  Some of my four-legged friends stop by daily for a treat and a few pats.  I look forward to it as much as they do!

Summer also means gathering treasures and making new creations for Molly Mo's Summer Antique Faire.   This year's event is scheduled for next Saturday, August 9, at a new location - the Union Hill Grange. We've been busy sewing, building, painting, papering and putting together all sorts of new things! My hubby created the table below using an old, wooden card table for the base and rusty metal panels for the top.  It's a rusty, crusty easy to transport and carry piece of wonderfulness. (If that isn't a word, it should be.)  Love it!

I wish I had taken a before picture (have to start remembering to do that).  This shelf/rack was a sorta-pink bathroom cabinet with plastic doors.  The doors went into the trash and the pink became cream.   We added a few details to create a craft supply storage unit.

The background is a 1930's newspaper.  We kept getting sidetracked reading the fabulous ads! A great addition to any craft room and it comes with all the little goodies too!  Cool beans!!

This cabinet and so much more can be found in our space at Molly Mo's 2014 Summer Antique Faire.  This fabulous Faire is tucked in the countryside just outside of Sublimity.  So worth the trip. Top notch vendors, food, beverages and live music!  Just a little over a week - don't miss it!

This is just a sample.  You've gotta grab your friends, your sweetie, your whatever- jump in the car - better yet - truck, truck with lots of hauling space.  Get there early and stay late.  You won't be disappointed!  See you there!

AND ... Save the Date ... 2014 Halloween Bootique ... Saturday, October 4th!

Witchy, Witchy... Screamy, Screamy...Happy, Happy ... Halloweenie ! M.

Thank You and a Recipe

Is was a GREAT day !  The 4 Friends Sale was so
much fun and we got to visit with many,
many of our friends and followers throughout the day.

I would like to thank everyone who came
and shopped my little "boutique".

All your sweet comments keep me
motivated to keep creating
and searching for all those
fun items you like.

So along with my hubby,
I would like to THANK YOU
 for another great sale!

ALSO - as promised - the recipe
for the Cheddar-Beer Bread
is below! See you again soon! M.

Cheddar Beer Bread

1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup finely chopped yellow onion
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 garlic clove, minced

3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1, 12-ounce bottle lager-style beer ( I used a popular, lite, "banquet" beer brewed in Colorado)

cooking spray
2 tablespoons melted butter (divided)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Spray 9 x 5 inch loaf pan with cooking spray.  Set aside.

Heat oil in small skillet over med-lo heat.  Add onion and cook 10 minutes or until browned.  Stir in pepper and garlic and cook 1 minute.  ***NOTE:  I didn't add any garlic to the bread I served Saturday.

Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in large bowl.  Make a "well" in the center and add the onion mixture, cheese and beer - stirring until just moist.

Spoon batter into the loaf pan.  Drizzle 1 tablespoon of the melted butter over the top of the batter.  Place in oven and bake for 35 minutes.  Drizzle the remaining tablespoon of melted butter over the batter and bake for an additional 25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool in pan for 5 minutes on a wire rack; remove from pan.  Cool completely on rack.

I was short on time and didn't want to mince and cook fresh onion, so I placed some dehydrated onion flakes in a small dish and covered with warm water.  Let it stand to soak up the water, squeezed excess water out, then added it to the dry ingredients with the cheese and beer.

PS  HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY !!!
