Fall is in the Air

The past few mornings, Miss Zoe and I have been sharing a piece of peanut butter toast on the patio. It has actually been kinda chilly! I know it sounds silly, but I had to put something warmer on over my pj's. Soon I will be changing my latte order from iced to hot! I don't mind though. I love fall and the crispness in the air. There is something very serene about this time of year. I start thinking about pumkin anything: decorations, desserts, pasta! And - apples. Can't forget apples.

In case you were wondering, Miss Zoe is doing much better. She still has a couple of problems, but nothing compared to what we were dealing with in July. This is a picture of her contemplating where she will dig next. What a pill!

I have been working really hard to get some great Halloween items ready for my shows and my Etsy store. I took a break from Halloween yesterday and made another market cart liner for a cart I will be taking to Coburg. I will post a picture of it tomorrow.
These little trick or treaters will be available on Etsy tonight , along with a couple more items. If you are interested in them, just email me and I can provide more info! Have a wonderful Friday and a safe Labor Day Weekend! M. PS: My 100th Post Giveaway is coming soon!

Yes, Halloween's A Comin'!

As I promised in my last post, I'm trying to get back to my blog and keep in touch with everyone. Thanks for not giving up on me! With Fall fast approaching, I have been working on Halloween creations. I will update info on where to find me with future show dates. If you are unable to attend and would like to purchase something you see on my blog, just send me a comment or email and we can make the appropriate arrangements.
My next show is on September 7th at the Coburg Antique Faire, Coburg Oregon, just a few miles north of Eugene (home of the U of O Ducks - got that in for the family). I will bring some new treasures and showcase this year's Halloween designs. Please come by and say hi. It is always a wonderful event with many, many vendors that bring everything imaginable. Come and make it a day!

I Can't Believe It !

Well, friends, it has been an odd summer for me. I'm not quite sure where the time went, but boy did it go! I spent most of my time trying to juggle everything that I wanted to accomplish and I'm not sure I did a very good job. Work was really busy, I tried to do a couple of antique shows, get a couple of weeks away with my husband, and complete a few home re-do projects. Somehow it got done, but I felt it was all kind of fragmented.

In addition, I feel very guilty that I haven't been keeping in touch with my blog friends. I so enjoy receiving your comments and even more, reading your posts. I vow to get back into the "groove" and start thinking about another "give-away" for my 100th post !

Okay - enough for the apologizing and whining and on to the BIG NEWS! The "I can't believe it" part. Last spring I hinted to you all that I was working a something but didn't want to reveal it 'cuz it might jinx it. Yes, I am a little superstitious. Anyway it must have worked, because I received an email a couple of weeks ago telling me that the a piece I submitted to Somerset Studio for their Vintage Halloween was going to be published! I had to read it over and over a few times to believe it. Today, my free issue came in the mail and it actually flipped open to the exact page - number 106! There it was: "The Ride by Nights"! I have to tell you, it is very surreal and a thrill to see it in print. I keep going back and looking at it to make sure!

On that note, I am beginning to make this year's Halloween creations. I have baskets of pumpkins waiting for something magical to happen to them. My mannequin is modeling a black feather boa and witch's hat to help me get the mojo going. Halloween is just around the corner, so keep checking back to see what I concoct!
